Taga-Alog 2019 Ilog Pasig – Philpop Bootcamp Tampisawit Edition

Taga-Alog 2019 Ilog Pasig – Philpop Bootcamp Tampisawit Edition is a 2-day songwriting workshop that seeks to promote the Pasig River as a center of culture and to also spread the awareness of rehabilitation efforts. The event gathered composers and songwriters to help create advocacy about Pasig River rehabilitation through songwriting which was headed by musicians and singers Noel Cabangon, Jungee Marcelo and Trina Belamide through the expansion of the mentorship program for songwriters and composers by the Philippines Educational Theater Association (PETA) and National Commission of Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

During the event,  the message of stop open burning was echoed to the participants through the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) video showing the negative effects of open burning and a brief about the regional UNIDO project “Demonstration of Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP) in Open Burning Activities in Response to the Stockholm Convention (SC) on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)”. The IEC video was developed through Component 4 of the Open Burning on BATs/BEPs project to spread the information on the negative effects of open burning and to introduce viewers to BATs/BEPs alternatives.
